First of, apologies to Pierre. I reported this issue years ago to Thomas, and when Pierre took over the project he asked me to file a bug report about it which I didn't do.

The attached patch fixes this issue for me, I've also attached two images from before and after. Tested on Fedora 9 (x86_64), images taken with fswebcam.
