Subject:[libGD] #176 [Task opened] Request for changing pixel density/resolution
THIS IS AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE, DO NOT REPLY.

A new Flyspray task has been opened. Details are below.

User who did this - Jubal Kessler (jubalkessler)

Attached to Project - libGD
Summary - Request for changing pixel density/resolution
Task Type - Feature Request
Category - General
Status - Unconfirmed
Assigned To -
Operating System - All
Severity - Low
Priority - Normal
Reported Version - 2.0.35
Due in Version - Undecided
Due Date - Undecided
Details - (Actually using 2.0.34)

libgd doesn't seem to support changing pixel density (resolution, or ppi) outside of a compile-time GD_RESOLUTION parameter, which is accompanied by an ominous note that the value therein affects font hinting.

A use case for adjustable pixel density is to output PNG files as 150 or 300 dpi for use in PDFs, which is what I'm presently tasked to do.

Would this be contemplated as a future feature? As a comparison, ImageMagick libraries apparently support it.
