Hi Clayton,

With a C rewrite of PEAR DB, the kind of modularity you have
implemented in dbx is exactly what we need.  The question is whether
we should re-implement all of PHP's database extensions.  I don't
think that's a good idea.  A better solution IMHO is to define a C API
used internally by PEAR DB and implement that interface in each
database extension.
