Unless you're specifically waiting for the fix in CPAN::Distnameinfo,
then you should be able to index bz2 files now. The installers support
.tar.bz2, as do the CPAN Tester smoker apps and the backend apps that I
look after.

The only ones that might not are the search tools for search.cpan.org
and kobesearch.
