The ones I have used in the past are:

news.mixmin.net
paganini.bofh.team

They are both free and censorship is almost non-existent. I haven't used 
"eternal-september" and unlikely to use it as long as compulsory 
registration is required. This might be a mute point because people can 
always create a disposable free email account but it is the principle I 
am fighting for.

I also use paid services from "news.us.Usenet-News.net" which allows you to
buy non-expiring block subscription. I paid about 5 UK pounds 3 years ago 
and I still have about £4 still in the account.

"usnews.blocknews.net" is also another paid subscription where you buy a 
block of £5.00 and and use it until you have used it all of it. It 
might take years to top it up again but I hardly use newsgroups these days.
