An Alabama high school girls’ basketball coach, who was married, was
recently slapped with 32 criminal charges because of allegations that he
engaged in sex acts with an 18-year-old boy.

According to prosecutors, Paige Adams, 35, has been charged in
connection with the incident that occurred between the two while she was
coaching Cold Springs High School’s basketball team. She has pleaded not
guilty to all the charges.

The prosecutor alleges that Paige Adams had been sending obscene content
to the boy on a total of 28 occasions within a period of three weeks,
ranging from February 13 to March 9. Also, before she resigned from work
in April, the prosecutor says that she had been requesting obscene
pictures from the teenager.

According to court records released on Monday, Paige Adams has, through
her legal representative, asked that all 32 indictments against her be
dismissed, claiming that the boy was neither her student nor her player.
She argues that she therefore did not have any educational or scholastic
extracurricular authority over him. Judge Emily Johnson has scheduled a
hearing on the matter for August 12th.

Before Paige’s arrest, she had been celebrated for leading the Cold
Springs Eagles girls’ basketball team to a state title.

However, her husband, who coaches the boys’ basketball team from the
same school, is seeking a divorce and full custody rights of their baby.
