I didn't notice those flags. I noticed a lot of 'Fuck Trudeau' flags, 
however.  The protest started out as the truckers being pissed because 
they couldn't cross the border unless vaccinated. Not sure what our 
government was supposed to do about US customs. Quickly, the whole thing 
was hijacked by extreme right-winged groups (like the ones who stormed 
the Capital on January 6). As the capital city, we get a lot of 
protestors and our city officials naively assumed these people would 
descend on us for the weekend and leave Sunday.

I knew that. There is project at StatCan to look into creating some sort 
of 'people registry' like the Scandahoovian countries have.  It will 
probably never get off the ground mostly due to the bullshit levels of 
bureaucracy that you have to go through to do anything here.
