Dogs:  noisy; hairy; smelly; sharp at one end; shitty at the other.  

Dogs have owners; cats have staff.  Dogs are dependent but you can
respect a cat.  When they master the use of the tin-opener cats won't
need humans at all; the only thing holding them back is the lack of
an opposable thumb.
