Do Yerpeans eat cooked radishes for brekkie? Just heard something on the
radio wot said cooking them brings out a certain sweetness... and that
you also make sandwiches with them?

The radishes we Okies like are round and red, white inside, peppery and
spicy. We prefer them raw and crunchy in tossed salads.

But... I'd be willing to try a fried radish sandwich... if I knew how to
make one...

“The beet is the most intense of vegetables. The radish, admittedly, is
more feverish, but the fire of the radish is a cold fire, the fire of
discontent, not of passion.”
Tom Robbins, ‘A Cook's book of Quotations’

BTW, Beets are the latest health food craze over here, they are even
made into chewy little candy things if you don't want to eat them fresh.
