I think there's more to it. I've been feeding the birds and the seed that falls 
gets gobbled up by the ones below. There's normally plenty to go round.
Now a wood pigeon can land on my lawn and start pecking at the grass and out of 
nowhere a collared dove will swoop down shrieking and attack the poor pigeon.

I hope it's got nothing to do with them being migrants from Turkey <GD&R>
