They don't tend to buy up pubs, but they put them out of business with
competition. The buildings they do buy tend to be old banks or similar
architectural gems, and they restore them as pubs, quite often very
sensitively. Another 'Spoons fact is that every carpet is unique,
specifically designed and manufactured for the pub in question. There
are web sirtes dedicated to this, I kid you not.
