The so called Ego is created by the Defense Structure for survival reasons to give us Neurosis .. Psychotic Break with Reality - Borderline - Bi-Polar and basically the whole DSM 5 diagnostic criteria like Paranoia for use in combat. If such things as addictions - neurosis - dysfunctional relationships that are self destructive and other destructive were not useful to keep the body alive and make the next generation .. the Defense Structure would not make these physical disease profiles as a function of traumatic stress in the Autonomic Nervous System and muscle memory as this is a physical disease with physical consequence and requires physical intervention. All the 'Mind Talk' that goes on inside per the 'thoughts' .. is there going on .. out of fear and anger which is blind. Love sees and has wisdom. Which oddly enough is the fix .. Love has to come into the traumatic stressed Body and mend the Broken Heart in making the bitter salty tears come out. When the person is Whole Hearted then the Defense Structure in the idiot savant genius it is at healing and creation .. has nothing else to do but make the light sweet tears of happiness and joy come out. Hope that is a help to sorting out the Human Condition a little bit for you.
