The point was that 'important cultural people' for years have lauded the
pure aesthetics of the unadorned marble of neoclassicism - supposedly
emulating the ancient greek and roman art - and _then_ they found out it
was supposed to be painted in bright colours.

If the bike is moving while you apply the tarp you are doing it wrong.
Also nobody is likely to suspect someone on a bike, which is why the
tarp is important to keep the stele out of sight.
