A former Cranston City Council member who was arrested last month on a drug charge was arrested and taken into custody Thursday on child sex charges, including first-degree child molestation. Sources told NBC 10 News that the allegations against Matthew Reilly involve a young girl he met online. Cranston police said in a release that Reilly, 41, was arrested in North Kingstown on a warrant charging him with first-degree child molestation, second-degree child molestation, and enticement of a person under 16.
