$5 Billion dangling carrot. The former Afghanistan government was getting $5 billion already, but much of it military aid. Switch it to humanitarian and industrialization aid, IF AND ONLY IF, the Taliban agree to recognize human rights. They could come to us with this deal, or we could come to them with it. (This is in addition to the $50-$100 billion the U.S. was spending itself on the war effort there... somehow. According to Brown University. Did we pay for all of NATO? $50Bill/10,000 NATO soldiers = $5,000,000 a soldier, per year? https://www.forbes.com/sites/niallmccarthy/2019/09/12/the-annual-cost-of-the-war-in-afghanistan-since-2001-infographic/?sh=3464d6fb1971 https://web.archive.org/web/20191008052643/https://www.thebalance.com/cost-of-afghanistan-war-timeline-economic-impact-4122493 https://web.archive.org/web/20191008000716/https://watson.brown.edu/costsofwar/files/cow/imce/papers/2018/Crawford_Costs%20of%20War%20Estimates%20Through%20FY2019.pdf )
