My great grandfather's 1st wife was from the next hill south (she died from chasing a horse), the 2nd one came from Hartland Vt (there was the Hart's Island rope ferry between Hartland Vt. and Plainfield so it was like one big town). The 3 of them are buried in the same cemetery plot. A lot of it is all grown over now but it used to be cleared with farms everywhere. All along Rt 120 were relatives. The big mill connection was Lebanon NH and Hartford VT and the transportation connection was West Lebanon NH and White River Junction VT so they were back and forth all the time. We had another patch of relatives in Jericho (village of Hartford VT). -- Grizzly H.
