gnus is the usenet client built into emacs!! if you're an emacs user
it's weird to do things not in emacs! like suppose i wanted twenty three
exclamation marks

emacs you just DO stuff like that

and if it doesn't do what you want you just MAKE it, you just make up
whatever commands you want, and it does stuff for you

so then you want to emacs ALL THE THINGS so that you can emacs whenever
you want

thus gnus is how to do usenet in emacs, and there's emacs irc clients,
and web browsers, and shells, and everything, so that you can use your
emacs powers while doing everything
