 Fuck “Cuties,” fuck the directors (because there’s more than one), and fuck the defenders. Media that shines a light on the sexualization of children is something we really need today and you had the chance and you ROYALLY FUCKED IT UP.

The movie itself is boring and dull and obviously nothing was put into it but you know what did have lots of effort in it? The zooming in and lingering on shots of actual children’s backsides and crotches. This movie, meant to show the horrible side effects of sexualizing children, decided to do so by sexualizing these little girls. They’re gonna grow up one day and wonder why no adult stood up for them and said that was inappropriate.

I’m mad about this because I was one of those girls that thought it made me “grown” to sexualize myself at twelve. I believed my abuser when he told me I was plenty “adult” enough to pose for dirty pictures in lingerie or less. And when I woke up and realized I didn’t want to do this anymore, that I never really wanted to at all in the first place and that it made me feel sick and used... he threatened to mail those pictures to everyone I knew. My parents, my neighbors, my friends, everyone in the school... He told me every time I sassed him or gave him attitude when he told me to do something that he would stick a printed picture of me with my face clearly present somewhere in town for someone to find and then word would spread about what a trashy little whore I was at only fifteen. This abuse didn’t end until that man died of a heroin overdose. Yes, I let it go on that long before I felt like I could admit that what I was doing was actually hurting me.

I wanted something that showed parents just how much sex and sexualization is pushed onto their children and from how many angles. I wanted something that would help show the world how easy it is for a child to misunderstand what it means to be an adult. I wanted something that would save more little children and teens from falling into the same trap that I did. That was too fucking much I guess. What should have been a serious and delicately handled topic (because I do believe that it should absolutely be discussed if we want to do something about it) was instead treated like... this! I just don’t have words for how stupid it is to claim you’re some kind of warrior fighting to save children from sexualization by having these girls sexualize themselves and MAKING IT THE FOCUS OF SO MANY SHOTS.

I really hope I reach people that think this was an appropriate and acceptable approach to making media around this issue. Please, read my message as one of passion. If you really want to stop the sexualization of children because of what paths it leads to, then you’ll understand why victims of that same thing are so outraged that these young girls were filmed in such a way.

Thank you. I cant believe how many people are trying to normalize this and act like we're overreacting. We need more people like Chris Hansen in this day and age. The media is obsessively trying to normalize pedo shit, and its just absolutely disgusting and evil. Im so sorry that happened to you.

Ah, a moron, just like the person I'm up against. You would think that this moron would realize that there existed the possibility that people might not believe you. You would think that this moron would realize that threatening to send evidence of his crime to everyone you knew would only ensure that people did believe you. Some people just have the intelligence of a gnat. I'm sure if it were a team sport the uniforms would read "I'm with stupid!"
