i agree with the advice...give that a try. my own dress code was slowly made more formal until now and i wear a suit and tie almost all of the time, french cuffs, collar bar, suspenders and pocket square. i don't see going back to casual attire either.

That sounds like a very formal outfit, very nice. You should consider wearing a collar bar with your starched collar and tie. I always do now, along with my custom tailored high collared shirts. My ties are always worn very tight, there is no space between my stiff collar and my neck. I agree, cuff links are a good touch.

I find a cashmere v-neck over shirt and tie warmer than an unbuttoned suit coat personally...but if you have central AC it may not be a problem for you. The layered look is nice, no doubt. A nice v-neck sweater framing a tall starched collar, tightly knotted silk tie held in place with a collar bar is a great look. A vest would work as well I think. It sounds like your wife has very good taste! Lots of nice tweed suits for the cooler weather?

My custom shirts also have collars as high as your triple buttoned ones - and they do take some getting used to. I still am very aware of them around my neck, but I wear collar bar and tie with them and lots of starch. They also correct your posture, I'll agree. I always wear them with a tie.

Good luck with your new dress code, it sounds very nice and formal.

A v-neck sweater over the summer sounds rather tough. You could instead offer to keep your tie or bow tie on, collar buttoned and neckwear tight after work instead, that way you'll still be presentable. My fiance thinks you should wear your collars buttoned and ties tight for your wfe in the evenings. She obviously thinks you should dress very formally, and you should please her in this. Consider French cuffs and cufflinks.

I have a few bow ties, and you will get a little more attention wearing them, but you get used to it. Also, they are usually a bit looser than a necktie, at least in my limited experience.

How do you like wearing the high collars? I've found them to be quite an adjustment. But they do look very nice and formal, and my fiance really likes them on me. I'm wearing the custom tailored high collared shirts every day now.
