Way back in the 1980s I owned this.
Interestingly enough, another kid wss playing an LCD handheld which was a racing game with the exact same music and sound effects, but a completly different form factor. I asked him if I could try it, he said sure, and I played it.
Within a minute, it became obvious to me that his game was using THE EXACT SAME LOGIC as this(my) football game! Only the display had you driving a car where you had to avoid colliding with the other cars, like avoiding the football players here.
I wonder how common it was for companies to do this back in the day, because it sure seemed like a scam. If I had gotten both this and that racing game for Christmas, I would have been feeling a bit ripped off. :|
