RELIGION SUCKS HERE S WHY
Because people are falsely led to believe that there is some forever paradise and they don't even need to try to make this world any better than it is.
There is no proof of any god, or an afterlife, or anything of the sort. It's just stories, stories that people hang on to because they are afraid of death. And there is no end to the amount of people who take this and twist it to control others.
This life now is the only one we have, and wishing for something more will not make it come true. Stop wasting our time with empty, wishful thinking crap!

I think you forgot to add the political part. The sole reason why religions still exist nowadays is because it's the best tool to control people. Just like economics.

There is no proof that there is no God or an afterlife either. Until you can produce irrefutable proof that there is no God you cannot make this cliam: "people are falsely led to believe"

That's a load of crap. There's probably (I haven't looked it up, I'm just guessing) fewer people believing in God today then there ever has been in the past. Besides, I think the best tools to control people are laws and law enforcement. Those are the best tools because unlike religion you do not get to opt out of those.

I was thinking something almost similar last night as I lay in bed with insomnia. I thought: If natural selection were true and survival of the fittest were the law of the jungle, why wasn't there a second coming of the dinosaurs? You remember the dinosaurs, right? Okay, so you don't remember them but you likely have heard of them. They once ruled this planet but were wiped out by some asteroid impact or something. Why didn't "natural selection" bring them back? There was a time when natural selection dictated that dinosaurs should exist and dominate this planet. They didn't wipe themselves out, right? They were just frolicking around doing their dinosaur thing when all of a sudden BOOM. The Earth was rocked, airborne dirt and debris obstructed the Sun's light and heat, things cooled and damn near everything died. But did everything begin again as it had in the past? No! Mammals like you and I emerged and the world would come to be dominated by those dumbasses called human beings. You know what human beings are, right? They're those silly creatures that put forth silly theories about natural selection and survival of the fittest. They put forth these theories while they simultaneously wipeout other species of plant and animal life through a process which could be best described as unnatural selection. There's science too. We human beings are manipulating things through science so that traits that should die off don't and traits that shouldn't die off do.
I've had a couple of people say to me in recent history that they're glad that I do not want a girl and that I do not enjoy sex because my genes won't be passed on and more people like me won't be produced. Ya know, genetics is like a relay race at the olympic games. You run your distance and pass on the baton to your offspring who you hope too will run the distance and again pass on the baton. Who really wins though? Is there ever an end to this relay race? Someday the universe will decide on the spur of the moment to cancel this olympic event and there won't be any notice given and there won't be any genetic winners. The universe will not allow your future surviving generation to stand on the platform. The universe will not be placing a medal around future surviving generation's neck. The universe will not be playing your future surviving generation's family anthem. It will just be over. Don't believe me? Ask any Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Religion in of itself is perfectly okay to have. It is the PEOPLE/HUMANS whom cling to it that twist it about into something that it is NOT. Get your facts straight!!
