I'm wondering why there wasn't a young fit cop or two guarding that lobby? We live in a world of mass shootings and terrorism, and the very first thing that struck me about all this was the lack of security.

Yeah, it's not the cop's fault, it's the fault of those above who were derelict in ensuring proper security for this building.
