Because man has worshipped closed to 50,000 gods during the course of human history, many of them came long before Christianity.
You may be worshipping Yahweh, yet you might actually be pissing of Zeus, and you will be sad and blue when you are surpised with the hell sentence you didn't expect. Or maybe Shiva is gritting her teeth, and she will burn you. Or maybe Odin's pissed, or Poseiden, or ......
So to be safe you better worship ALL of them, and love them all to death. Of course, there is the "no gods besides Me" rule and Yahweh isn't the only one that has it. You'll have to figure a way out of this quagmire yourself.
So get loving and quaking big time lovemuffin, because you don't want to burn. :D
