Those "chips" look like relays.
A machine like this would be using relays and maybe transistors for the optic sensor pickup back in 1969. This actually qualifies as an electromechanical arcade machine.

That is an amazing machine. I love the old games but I am more fascinated by the commercials and seeing the inner workings. Real craftsmanship in these machines.

Many of the machines like this and pinball machines rely on relays...so there are usually a couple banks of them...to make the "magic" happen! What's nice is that all the relays are like new---plus the fact they are all sealed in plastic, so the contacts are all shiny!

@Supersaiyan79 sorry, bright eyes, but the free play button is where the LOCK was....the LOCK certainly does not fit there---I agree! They should put the LOCK with STYLE and DISCERNMENT next time! I will contact the Nutting Labortory IMMEDIATELY and start SCREAMING at them for placing an UGLY LOCK right the hell in front of the machine!!! THANK YOU for noting this!

when I left school my first employment was with a gaming company supplying j/boxes pins, fruits to pubs etc, and we had these machines, never thought I would see one again, thanks Todd for making my day, really enjoyed the vid as usual.

I remember the unit/game in arcades 1970, '71
The chips were probably ITT, Bell, Western Electric or IBM (et al.) because I know microsoft wasn't around then, neither was intel.
