 I love it when a preacher is handed a question like "Why didn't God appear in China or to the Native Americans?" and he does all of these gymnastics to try to make it look like the Abrahamic God appeared in those places.

The Abrahamic religions are strictly based in the Middle East and around the Roman Empire, and thus highly localized. So yes, this does not prove a damn thing about that god being universal or even continent wide for that matter. Don't bother making yourself look like an ass by trying to change this.
