  Maternal folly - choose OD:   Foetal alcohol syndrome
  Son of a cold motherly ale?  =  Foetal alcohol syndrome
  Fetal alcohol syndrome  =  Sly ale can flood mother

The same applies for these:
  Colour-blindness = Dull cones in orbs
                   = 'No luridness' bloc
                   = In loon-dress club?
                   = Rods & (NB!) ill cones

But one thing I _do_ know:
  CoViD cases = ACCESS VOID
