ROCHESTER — City Councilor Chris Rice is facing a trial in front of 
the council, accused of repeatedly sexually harassing a current 
councilor and a former councilor by commenting about their bodies 
and appearances and pressuring them to vote the way he wants.

Rice is also accused of creating a fake press release with the city 
seal and threatening to make the mayor's life a "living hell."

An investigative report states City Councilor Ashley Desrochers 
testified Rice started harassing her last fall before she was 
elected as a first-term councilor. This included Rice telling her 
during an election recount he wanted her to win so he would have "a 
cute girl next to him and a cute gay guy next to him, too" on the 
dais at council meetings, referring to Desrochers and another 
councilor.

Palana Hunt-Hawkins, a former city councilor, made similar 
allegations against Rice when testifying, the report states. She 
testified Rice made comments about her sexuality and genitalia and 
sexually aggressive comments about city employees.
