For the ultra-paranoid:

Use a removable SSD with a Linux system within a hidden TrueCrypt /
VeraCrypt container with OmniMix running within a Wine environment,
install the mail / news client of your choice and route its output
through the OmniMix proxy server.  That's automation, which, once set
up, immensely increases productivitu and prevents you from making
harmful mistakes.
