Faux Corned Beef Foisted Off on Us Today, 21 June 2023

We have found that the deli cooks at the Tunnel Rd Ingles can't hold a candle to the cooks at the Oteen Ingles.  Sometimes, however, the cooks at TR will pleasantly surprise you.  And sometimes the cooks at Oteen will UNpleasantly surprise you, such as in the case of the faux corned beef and cabbage mess we purchased today from the deli.  The beef was UNcorned.   Genuine corned beef has been lovingly pickled in spices, pickling salt, and saltpeter for 10 days and, when fully pickled, falls apart with tenderness, not these big tough blobs of dry meat we got today with our cabbage.  

The veggies were good, though-- scrumptious okra and squash.  Try again.   We Reuben sandwich lovers were very disappointed; next time we get hoodooed with bad food by the Oteen deli, we're gonna call the police. :)
