What really awed me about this performance is that the man is so muscular and so violent with his bow and fabled Kreuzer Stradivarius, he makes such exciting music he would please Johannes Brahms to no end. The horse hairs on his bow break and he has to tear off the broken strands when he has a few seconds of spare time. He is a great violinist. His interpretations are impeccable. But of all the contemporary violinists, my passion soars for lovely Hilary Hahn. Words are inadequate to honor her; she is the crown jewel of the concert violinists and elegantly beautiful, not just to hear but to watch her dance. And, oh, that angelic smile of hers!
