Ok - Time to STOP Messing-About With Mummies - TOTALLY Disrespectful

I came across a number of TV "documentaries" the
past week that involved utterly desecrating old
Egyptian tombs/mummies for "scientific knowledge".

Sorry, but this NEEDS TO STOP.

They were prepared and buried in context with the
religion of the times and modern science should
RESPECT that. They are not little wooden statues,
they were real PEOPLE doing what in their best
knowledge would lead them to grace in an afterlife.

Nobody, no govt, no school, should put up with this
anymore. They will be digging-up and cutting-up YOUR
Granny next and saying it's "science". It's just
the latest incarnation of tomb LOOTING.

The exact details of every Egyptian burial is
NOT "critical knowledge", not life and death for
everyone's future. We do not HAVE to know all
of this stuff about an Egypt long past. It was
what it was and we've found out MORE than enough.

Leave them be. IF you can do some kind of X-ray
scan of things without digging them up then fine.
Otherwise, find a more relevant occupation.

How they would treat your Granny says a lot about
a civilization.
