Tar was used as an adhesive for hafting stone tools to wooden handles, representing a significant advancement in tool- making, predating current modern human tar adhesive use by more than 100,000 years. . . . Boil sap and hydrocarbons = Glue. 100,000 years before our subspecies got a clue. Look, the Neanderthals were NOT stupid. This becomes more and more clear all the time. They were, however, seemingly "wired a bit different". Whatever their global skill set ours, probably more 'aggressive', ultimately won out.
