There is no way Whaley dropped Oswald off at a point that was a 6 minute
walk to the rooming house. As I recall, Whaley erred in logging the actual
location because he wrote it was an intersection that didn't exist. It
seems clear from his testimony he went a few blocks past the rooming house
before Oswald got out. Oswald might have wanted to see if any cops were
waiting at the rooming house before he got out of the cab, but that is
conjecture. Whaley's log sheet was in 15 minute intervals and he logged
this trip in the 12:45 to 1:00 interval. We can't know the exact time he
picked up or dropped off Oswald, but we can estimate it based on other
known factors.
