The fact of the matter is Virginia Davis contradicted herself several 
times. In parts of her testimony, she said Jeanette called the police 
after they saw Oswald cut across the lawn and later, she said the police 
were called before. I've already provided one in which she said she saw 
Oswald cut across the lawn before they called the police. Here is another:

Mrs. DAVIS. See, all the people had already--see, he was already gone.
Mr. BELIN. Had he gone by at that time?
Mrs. DAVIS. By the time we got back from off the phone, he had already 
gone. He had already disappeared behind the corner of our house.
Mr. BELIN. Did you see him going in front of your house before you called 
on the phone?
Mrs. DAVIS. Yes. When we heard the second shot, we ran to the front door, 
and that is when we saw the boy cutting across the yard.

Elsewhere she says she saw Oswald after they called the police. Clearly 
she was confused on that point. Both those things cannot be true. So which 
one is wrong. Common sense alone would tell you she was wrong when she 
said they saw Oswald after calling the police. She said they saw Oswald 
cut across the lawn when they ran to the door. What reason would they have 
for calling the police before they ran to the front door? They didn't know 
a cop had been shot until after they went to the front door.
