A disturbingly high number of states with Republican-majority legislators are creating restrictive election provisions in response to a false narrative that widespread voter fraud is a genuine problem - a narrative that began with Trump - adopted and believed by his supporters - and then repeated by Republican congressmen/senators in a brazen political ploy to endear Trump's supporters to them, unconcerned with whether the narrative is either true or can be remotely supported. It is apparently enough to simply parrot it because this "basket" of supporters are not particularly analytical and facts are not their strong suit. David Emerling Memphis, TN
