It's probably unstoppable; the West doesn't want to part with its wealth 
and poorer countries want to increase theirs.  Those who favor the 
status quo have really no other choice but to "lie & hope" that 
catastrophic climate change does not happen, at least in their lifetimes.

As a human being, I am unwilling to allow myself and/or my beloved 
family to freeze to death in the winter, and so, I consume fossil fuels 
at least to stay alive.  And, so, what are the alternatives here?  For 
me, being truthful about the situation is not an option.
