New age at Lunar New Year?

February 17 will be Raven new moon (as in the Haida creation legend of Raven and the First Men), Lunar New Year (also known as Chinese New Year), a significant birthday in my family, Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Day (and the eve of Ash Wednesday), and an Annular Solar Eclipse, or Ring of Fire, though it won’t be visible up north. It is also the new/dark moon which falls just before the start of Ramadan (which depends on the sighting of the earliest waxing crescent).
