Truth is, if there's anyone in any of these groups you crossposted to, they filter it all out. I can't recall a time when there was a single real "Skeptic" on usenet, even back before Google Groups. I always said that the best skeptic WANTS TO BELIEVE. They want it to be true. They want to see a ghost or a for-real UFO. They want a magic wishing well, dragons and a Loch Ness Monster. But they just don't have any faith and they need proof. Online jackasses calling themselves "Skeptics" want to look smarter than they really are. I've actually had some of these einsteins flat out tell me: A skeptic (atheist/etc) is blah-blah percent smarter on average In other words, these nimrods think that they are making themselves smarter just by calling themselves a "Skeptic." Never had a one do anything but naked denial... The old argument was; "Win da prize! It it'ds reel den contact Randi and win do prize!" That's why I always HATED Randi's prize. It destroyed thought. It was an excuse to not even try to think. It reduced "Skepticism" to "Did they or didn't they win the million?" So who cares? If by some miracle anyone isn't filtering out all the posts that challenge their perceptions, they're probably just idiots. -- https://jtem.tumblr.com/tagged/The%20Book%20of%20JTEM/page/5
