Can any rocket company compete with SpaceX? Not anytime soon,
a challenging reality for satellite competitors to SpaceX’s Starlink 
constellation.
While SpaceX has drastically lowered launch costs with its reusable 
Falcon 9,
it’s not passing all those savings on to customers, since it controls 
the market.
Satellite companies, including Amazon, are desperate for other rockets.
Blue Origin is a promising competitor in the long term, with New Glenn,
its reusable rocket. But it had just two launches last year, and failed 
recently
to put AST SpaceMobile’s satellite into orbit, a huge blow for both. 
Other launchers
include Rocket Lab, Arianespace, United Launch Alliance and Firefly 
Aerospace.
Rocket Lab ranked second globally in commercial launches last year with 18.
Meanwhile, SpaceX could pull further ahead with the launch of Starship,
the largest rocket ever, which the company hopes will further lower 
launch costs
and enable a future of orbital data centers, moon bases and more. At the 
same time,
delays and technical issues could open the door to one of SpaceX’s 
competitors.
