Theres a buck in it.

*** UPDATE ***

OK. Longer answer.

You might ask ChatGPT or similar bot what the commonality is
between English-speaking countries and others.
It's often been noted that certain happenings are treated much more
differently in some countries than others.
The govt and military of some non-Eng countries have more or less
the official position that ET is the most likely explanation for
certain occurrences.
The Eng-speaking world is officially silent albiet some drip drip drip
is going on.
Air Forces in at least AUS, UK, US say they are not looking into any
of this -- sometimes shown to be "not entirely correct" -- while others
seem to think it is still its interesting.

So that might give you a clue to where the bucks are.

But a longer answer is -- the while sphere of paranormal events may
be very much intertwined. Maybe not all the same thing, but very
closely related.
This is what researchers in key areas say from time to time.
And looking at the numbers it seems to be true.

What numbers you ask? I am particilarly interested in time series.
You can forgot how many points on some star that flew overhead has,
just tell me date and time and I'm happy. :)

I'm latetly a data scientist. Somehow I hit the ground running
in the 2000s building a small data center here in Melbourne
and managed to claw my way up the ladder to rank in the top200 of
data scientists in the world at that time, according to Kaggle.

In data science a lot is made of "domain knowlege" -- what numbers
are describing. But you don't need to know that at all.
An interesting experiment -- call it a psychology experiment -- is
to take a bunch of numbers with no explanations attached, and give
them to a statistician, sociologist, psychologist and anyone else
that can reliably pick out robust patterns in data.

Ask them is there a robust pattern in the data.

This has been done many many times with paranormal data. Kaggle
for many years called on people to upload their data no matter what it was
and have the millions of experts on their rolls take a look at it.
I took a look at some of it. Other people did as well.

But it's funny. It can happen that some scientist with a good regression
program they know how to use looks at certain numbers and they find a pattern,
when they find out it's dates that apparitions were sighted somewhere in
England they drop their bundle and retract everything they said. :)

My poor old mum often confused and embarrased us kids by telling people
that came to the house she was white whitch. In former times she would
have been burned at the stake 100 times over, I guess.

She used to try to get me to look at her books. It got to the point in
the early days of the TRS80s I wrote a small program that looked at
planetary movements so she could throw her bones or whatever she was
doing at the time. I thought it was more or less nonsense.

Not now.

Turns out if you look at paranormal events and compare them with e.g.
the distance of certain planets from the Earth at the time then
you get some pretty startling strong correlations. Not only strong
but interestingly -ve. I.e. the closer the planet the more events on
that date.

This pattern holds for almost all paranormal activity up to and including
various crytid sightings.

You gotta ask why this is and why no-one had said anything about it before.

But the bucks. Cant fight the buck. :)

ne day Wise Woman went to Chief and told him there seemed to
be other people in the Forest.
She told him many days away she found strange marks in the ground and
also strange footprints.
They were similar to human footprints but had only one huge toe that
seemed to be scarred with many deep wounds. It seemed the others must be
much taller than any of the People. But they seemed to command fire
so they must be human.
"Ridiculous", said Chief.
It was known for many generations the Spirits created 5 men and 5
women long ago. Those People had children and after many generations there
were almost 100 People. There were no others.
Chief decided to climb to the top of the tallest tree in the
Forest and call to these "other humans".
Alone of all the animals humans had the power of Words.
For many days Chief climbed the tallest tree and called and called
to the others.
There was no answer.
Chief told Wise Woman about his test.
If there were others, why did they never answer?
There could be many reasons, said Wise Woman.
Maybe the others were asleep.
Maybe they were stalking game and had to be quiet.
Or maybe their custom was not to talk to anyone they didn't know by name.
"Rubbish", said Chief.
He thought about another test. Alone of all animals in the Forest
People had mastery of Fire.
Chief went to a clearing and lit a big fire.
He threw wet leaves and branches on the fire until a huge pall of
dark smoke hung over the clearing.
He kept the fire smoking for many days and then climbed the tallest
tree in the Forest and looked in every direction.
There was no answering smoke anywhere.
The other people did not exist!
He had proved it 2 different ways now!!
