Since being an atheist means not believing in any god such
evidence would be attempting to prove a negative.  It would
not be positive.

A positive assertion requires supporting evidence.
Statements such as "There is a god" or "There is no god"
clearly indicates statements of fact and not belief and
would require support.  Starting either statement with "I
believe..." would require nothing more.

Anyone can believe anything he likes with no explanation or
evidence.  But if it not clearly a belief but worded so as
to appear to be a fact support is needed.  He may consider
it a fact but that does not make it so without unambiguous,
unrelated, verifiable and credible evidence.

The definition of atheist precludes the necessity for any
supporting evidence.

Just how would someone provide evidence they did not collect
