People experience tension headache symptoms differently. Some people descri=

The impact of violent video games (VVGs) on youth remains unclear given inc=
onsistent results in past literature. Most previous experimental studies ha=
ve been done with college students, not youth. The current study examined t=
he impact of VVGs in an experimental study of teens (12-18). Participants w=
ere randomized to play either a violent or non-violent video game. Teens al=
so reported their levels of stress and hostility both before and after vide=
o game play. Hostility levels neither decreased nor increased following vio=
lent game play, and Bayesian analyzes confirmed that results are supportive=

 whatever you choose, make sure it's something you enjoy so you're more lik=
ely to stick with it.

"Stress doesn't only make us feel awful emotionally," says Jay Winner, MD, =

ement Program for Sansum Clinic in Santa Barbara, Calif. "It can also exace=
rbate just about any health condition you can think of."

 Studies have found many health problems related to stress. Stress seems to=
 worsen or increase the risk of conditions like obesity, heart disease, Alz=
heimer's disease, diabetes, depression, gastrointestinal problems, and asth=
ma.

A 2019 study, for example, showed that stress hormones can increase the num=
ber of pro-tumor immune cells in tumors. That could mean that stress not on=
ly wakes up dormant tumor cells but also provides the right environment for=

there's a general trend for young people to see a decrease in neuroticism a=
s they mature, and an increase in agreeableness and conscientiousness. Suti=

ngs suggest a reversal of that pattern for younger adults as the pandemic d=
ragged on.

Between the first stages of pandemic lockdown in 2020 to the second and thi=
rd years of the pandemic in 2021 and 2022, the researchers found that extro=
version, openness, agreeableness and conscientiousness all declined across =
the population, but especially for younger adults, who also showed an incre=
ase in neuroticism.

Our bodies respond to stress by releasing hormones that increase your heart=

Take a minute to figure out how stress affects your body. Where do you feel=
