Evening, We just finished ST:VOY for the 3rd time in 8-ish years, so now we've started B5 for the 3rd time in as many years. This is probably my 7th or 8th watch-through. And apart from the usual "damn, this hits close to home", I'm getting the feeling that I have previously greatly undervalued Season 1. Not sure why I didn't pick up on this before (at least not to this extent), but: Several of the memorable dialogues I remember are from Season 1, while I've been associating them with S2 or even later episodes. There's also (even) more dark political undercurrents going on than I've picked up on before, and some of the acting definitely seems better than I remember. So what's my problem? Have I been overly harsh in my "fair warnings" to potential viewers about the weaknesses of S1? Have I just not paid enough attention? Or have I grown softer and more nostalgic with age? /Eirik -- http://floppy.museum ~ love over gold ~
