Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany took a swipe at her 
successor Jen Psaki over her penchant for saying she’d “circle back” to 
answer reporters’ questions.

Reacting to a “Fox & Friends” montage of Psaki using her oft-repeated 
refrain, McEnany said she avoided the stall technique because she was 
familiar with President Donald Trump’s stance on issues.

“I wish Jen Psaki all the best, it is a very hard job but that being said, 
we took great pains in our administration to do hours and hours of 
research beforehand, days sometimes,” McEnany said.

“I always knew where my boss stood. Unlike other press secretaries who 
maybe didn’t have walk-in privileges, I could walk in at any time … I 
always knew where his head was at, so I didn’t have to a ton of circling 
back because President Trump gave a lot of access to me,” she added.

Psaki has held daily press briefings after the Trump White House held them 
less regularly during McEnany’s stint, but the former president was known 
for his openness with the press corps.

McEnany also took a jab at President Biden — who has gone 45 days without 
holding a solo press conference — for staying in the “basement” and 
avoiding questions from reporters.

“It’s exactly like the campaign. That was his strategy all along,” said 
McEnany, who is now a Fox News analyst.

“Hide in the basement, don’t talk to the American people … That’s what 
President Trump offered. He gave transparency. He was always willing to 
take questions, always willing to go to the podium, always willing to stop 
on his way to the helicopter,” she said.

“Transparency is what he offered, and Joe Biden vowed transparency. Now 
he’s set a 100-year record for not going to the podium,” she added.

On Tuesday, a reporter asked Psaki if she would be willing to sit down 
with McEnany for an interview.

“Sure, I’ve done ‘Fox News Sunday’ twice now. I’m happy to go on a range 
of shows,” she answered.

“I will say that I knew [McEnany] a little bit, not well,” Psaki said. “I 
met her when we were both CNN contributors, and we did a few shows — I’m 
not sure how many — together.

“Like many Americans, we disagree on political issues, but we talked about 
our families, our spouses, sports, all sorts of things in the green room, 
and I certainly wish her the best in her future endeavors,” she added.
