That should work. Some people have problems with sio2k and os/2 though. I'd suggest IREX instead of Frontdoor, personally. It should still be registrable, and the os/2 version isn't too buggy. If you're using binkd and fastecho, you really shouldn't need a front end, at least I don't with windows. Allfix works great for me for files as well.
