And excellent program that effectively slows down a program on
fast computers is SlowDown.  Here is a description from it's
file_id.diz:

SLOWDOWN v 1.01 makes programss think they're
running on a slower machine (like an AT or an
XT). Good for certain older programs that
won't run properly on today's super-fast
machines.  DOS programs only.
