If lithium and nickle and cadmium and such are used in energy and we
know energy is "a measure of work" and that those deposits are limited,
then why NOT use those metals as the commodities that guarantee the
value of the money we use. We then have an impetus to recycle those
metals back into storage to maintain the quantity available.

"For example, Tesla uses metals such as lithium, graphite, copper,
nickel, aluminum, cobalt, titanium, and others in its model vehicles. On
the other hand, companies such as Nissan use a certain amount of
tungsten to make batteries used in electric vehicles. Other
manufacturers can also add "rare earth metals" to battery manufacturing."

That would tend to solve several problems all at the same time.

It gives us a commodity backed paper and/or digital coin, and it creates
an urge to recycle environmentally unfriendly heavy metals, and not
throw them away. Imagine that you use precious metals or heavy metal
backed digital/paper coins and can interchange them or transfer a
digital coin when using electronics or paper when doing business in
person and both are equal value and it doesn't matter which type of coin
you're using paper or digital it's all good because it's all backed by
the same commodities.

Of course when a different energy source is more popular, those
commodities would be worth much less, causing those dollars to fall in
value and they may need to change over time as the new energy source is
developed.
