In either case, the science is settled:  Barred owls came to the NW as 
the result of european/white American intervention and are upseting the 
ecology in the PNW.  It is NOT solely about the Spotted Owl - the Spotted 
Owl is an indicator species - the threat is to the entire NW ecosystem.
