Being an old man, I liked that. A gentleman on Youtube has put out three short videos on what are in his opinion the best and second best books not to get a Hugo, Nebula, or Locus nomination from 1960-89, As no less than five of these books are by Alan Dean Foster, you might have similar taste. Harry Harrison is another favourite. I find the list interesting. It is by no means a new wave list, but nor is it a sad puppies list. I quite agree with him on some of these underappreciated books - he mentions John Brunner's "The Long Result", which I have talked about here, as well as "Greybeard". And even where I don't agree, he's usually citing a book I liked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tACdYWOC9OA William Hyde
