Forge Of Empires Download Pc Windows 7

I go to turn on my pc and all the sudden forge of empires and spotify installed itself without me doing anything. Plus my mouse cursor was changed to the older xp style mouse cursor. My default search engine was changed to yahoo. I didn't download anything for a week or two and it just now did this, plus if I did download a malicious file my paid antivirus would have detected it so it can't be malware. What is going on?


Forge of Empires, just like Raids: Shadow Legends features turn-based fights. In such a combat system, you need to create a battle-winning strategy, choose the right military unit, attack and wait for the enemy to respond. You can also plunder other empires or use the auto-battle mode to defend your world. Expected result:

Clicking on said buttons in Hero Wars should just take me to another screen, in FoE that is sometimes the case, in others it brings up another window (assigning forge points to great building, or the message board, for example) within the interface.

I just updated Brave to the new versions today and it seemed to fix the problem in Forge of empires. With the freezing up issue.

Well the game kind of runs, but it is extremely unresponsive and goes with around 4 fps. I first thought the game is just sluggish, but then decided to try it with old windows xp machine and it runs it very smooth.


With wine d3d for windows dll files I get the best fps, but the map view has toxic green overlay so all the color coded game locations look the same. I think the wine translates the directx functions to OpenGL.


The whole low fps thing reminds me very much of Rome Total War. I think it is also directx8 game. I remember playing it many years ago hoping that in the future we can play the game with full details and thousands of units on the battle field, but unfortunately the game runs even slower with new windows machines. Steam forums are full of speculation what is causing the lag and people offer all kinds of directx wrappers, but that is also one game that I never found a good solution with.


Uhmm... I remember this was a quite difficult case, and some good results were not easy to replicate on other environments. 

I would try to stick to the guidelines and try using the new "DirectX / Async blit mode" to see if this can bring better fluidity (forget about the FPS numbers, what counts is your feeling) without side effects.

I'll try to test the game on Win11 and last DxWnd in any case....


Used your settings file, unfortunately doesn't seem to make any difference to my felt experience, its still very choppy moving around the map / interacting with anything. With current settings it feels no different than running with native compatibility from windows.






How did you make the map. If you download someone else's map or used an old version of galaxy forge it will not show up even if it is in the right place. For Rebellion you need to use the Galaxy Forge in the Rebellion install directory, not the one download from this site. That one is for Trinity users.

Thanks. Please tell me what forge of empires automatization feauture you find slow, so that I can speed it up a bit. Some of features are slow intentionally to act like real person, but I may tweak it perhaps. Thanks
